Originally from Malden, Massachusetts, a suburb just 5 miles north of Boston, I moved to Phoenix AZ at the age of 17 to care for my ill father. Several years later when my father passed, it was obvious that Arizona was my permanent home. I had worked in the car business for 15 years, primarily in Financing, all the while investing in real estate. I purchased my very first home in 1988. It was 4-plex. We lived in one unit and rented the other three. With a name like Acres, I knew I was destined to be in real estate somehow. My wife became a real estate agent working for Century21 and I got into mortgage lending. My strength is being able to decipher the different loan programs and guidelines and understand how they can help or hurt my borrowers. Most loan officers do a great job in finding clients but have a hard time matching them with the right loan product for their particular scenario. A lot of times they are turned away because they were unaware of a particular loan product or guideline that would allow that person to be approved.
